Seattle native Elizabeth Lee receives award upon graduation from Whitman College

WALLA WALLA, WA (06/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Elizabeth Lee of Seattle, Wash. was honored with an award upon her graduation from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.

Lee was selected as a recipient of the Connie Jill Carlstrom Award in Japanese Studies. This award, which includes a $1,500 cash prize, is given annually to one or more outstanding students of Japanese language and culture interested in pursuing graduate studies in some aspect of relations between the United States and Japan.

Lee is a 2009 graduate of West Seattle High School. She received a B.A. in Asian Studies during the Whitman commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 19.
