Sebastian Gualy of Katy Receives Leadership Award from Southwestern University

GEORGETOWN, TX (04/10/2014)(readMedia)-- Sebastian Gualy of Katy has received the 2014 Emerging Leader Award from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The award was presented at the university's 16th Annual Student Leadership Banquet April 3.

Award recipients are nominated by students and faculty members and are then sent a list of questions to answer, including their personal philosophy of leadership. The winners are chosen by members of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society.

Gualy is a first-year student at Southwestern and is majoring in biology and biochemistry. He is a member of the men's varsity lacrosse team has been involved with Student Foundation, Circle K, Beta Beta Beta, Alpha Lambda Delta and The Big Event, which is a day of service in the Georgetown community. Gualy is vice president of his pledge class for Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and was his class representative for the recent inauguration of Southwestern University President Dr. Edward Burger. This summer, he will be conducting research with Martin Gonzalez, associate professor of biology.

Gualy is the son of Ron and Ana Gualy.
