Jimmy Smith signs his National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Indianapolis

BATAVIA, NY (05/14/2015)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College men's lacrosse midfielder Jimmy Smith (Hamburg, NY) recently committed to the University of Indianapolis to continue his academic and athletic career beginning this fall.

Smith played in 31 games during his two-year career at GCC and tallied 56 total points, scoring 34 goals and assisting on 22. He was named to the All-Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) First Team and the All-Region III Second team this spring for Genesee, which reached the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Final Four for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

The University of Indianapolis men's lacrosse program will begin its first season in the spring of 2016. The Greyhounds are part of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level.

Smith will receive an athletics scholarship to attend U-Indy.
