Four SVC students along with four staff members attended The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 23rd Annual Student Leadership Conference. This conference gives students the opportunity to examine the topic of leadership and build personal leadership skills through its annual conference. During previous conferences, students have had the opportunity to learn from one another about leadership as well as gain some practical skills that can be put to use immediately. Students attending this conference challenged each other to expand their thinking, investigate the diversity of leadership among them, and set high standards for leadership on their campus.
This year's conference theme was "The Magic of Leadership". The hope was to inspire students to think about the hard work and dedication that each person must endure to make it to their leadership potential. The committee selected the theme to encourage students to examine leadership opportunities on their own campuses and discover new ways to implement what they have learned. Experienced and new leaders assessed their needs and focus on challenges while opening a world of options from which to strengthen their own abilities.
SVC was one of eight visiting colleges to the conference, giving students the opportunity to connect with other students from varying institutions.
