STAUNTON, VA (12/16/2009)(readMedia)-- It was standing room only on Tuesday night at Shenandoah Pizza for the fund raiser Fare and Noise for Girls and Boys. Over 300 people crowded into John Huggins pizza joint to hear local musicians from the Staunton Music Guild play a cornucopia of tunes open mic style. The evening's performers were pampered by the professional sound system courtesy of Fretwell Bass, a neighbor of Shenandoah Pizza in downtown Staunton. Over $500 dollars was raised via tip jar and from a portion of the fare sales.
The staff and administration from the Boys and Girls Club have idenitified some families in dire need of basic essentials. Those families will recieved a box of food as well as cooked and baked goods for the holidays thanks to the efforts of the local musicians and the two downtown businesses. In addition, all the children of the Boys and Girls Club will be treated to a Christmas dinner family style before the holidays. At the end of the day, a good time was had by all.
