Star of "Hoop Dreams" film, Arthur "Man" Agee, Jr., visits Elizabethtown College

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (01/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Arthur "Man" Agee, Jr. visits Elizabethtown College Monday, January 23, to participate in the screening of the documentary "Hoop Dreams," the story of Agee's and William Gates' experience playing for St. Joseph High School in West Chester, Ill., a predominately white high school with an outstanding basketball program. The documentary is part of E-town's classic film festival, focusing on diversity, scheduled throughout the 2011-2012 academic year.

Mr. Agee will present at various forums on campus Monday, January 23:

11 a.m.; Swatara Room, Myer Hall – "Hoop Dreams" (free and open to the public)

2 p.m.; Nicarry 104 - "Education for Marginalized and Challenged Populations" (for Social Work and Education classes)

6:30 p.m.; Gibble Auditorium, Esbenshade Hall of the Masters Center – Screening of "Hoop Dreams" film;

conversation with Mr. Agee at intermission (free and open to the public). The 2 p.m. lecture and 6:30 p.m. free are free and open to the public.
