State DOT Slates Public Hearing on Fonda Rail Crossing Closures
March 21 Hearing to Focus on Broadway and Center Street Crossing Closures
ALBANY, NY (03/09/2012)(readMedia)-- The New York Sate Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 beginning at 10 a.m. in Fonda, Montgomery County, regarding a request by CSX Transportation, Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla., (Case 38491 and 38492) to discontinue and close the Broadway Street and Center Street public railroad grade crossings located in the Village of Fonda and to divert traffic to the Bridge Street (NYS Route 30A) highway overpass.
The public hearing will be held before the Honorable Robert A. Rybak, acting chief administrative law judge, New York State Department of Transportation, at the Fonda Village Hall, 8 East Main Street, Fonda, New York 12068
The hearing will establish a record and serve as the basis for a determination on whether the discontinuance and closure of these two public at-grade crossings are in the public interest.
