State Fair Keto Crown Goes To Norwalk Cook

DES MOINES, IA (09/03/2021) (readMedia)-- Pamela Reynolds of Norwalk won first place in the Getting Lean on Keto contest, judged Friday, August 13, at the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

Mary Burr of Iowa City claimed second place.

Contestants were tasked with creating an award winning appetizer, side dish or main dish that adheres to ketogenic diet guidelines.

Entries were judges on taste, presentation, adherence to rules and originality.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 134 divisions, 603 classes and nearly 6500 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air.
