ALBANY, NY (05/02/2008)(readMedia)-- New York State Parks Commissioner Carol Ash announced today that the agency will participate in a series of public information meetings around the state regarding the availability of funds for environmental projects funded through the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
“These grant programs have proven to be enormously successful in funding a wide variety of environmental programs in countless communities around our state,” Ash said. “We encourage community members and organizations to attend one of these meetings and learn more about how these grants can help their projects.”
According to Ash, grant applications are available for the following programs: Parks, Historic Preservation and Heritage Areas system; Local Waterfront Revitalization and the Hudson River Estuary. The due date for completed applications is June 30, 2008.
The workshops are free and no pre-registration is required. The schedule is as follows:
