State Principals of the Year Honored at Local Ceremony

ALBANY, NY (05/10/2013)(readMedia)-- SAANYS will hold its 2013 statewide awards ceremony to acknowledge the New York State Principals of the Year as well as other school administrators.

Principals of the Year will also be honored at the national level by SAANYS' affiliates, the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

WHO:

2013 Outstanding Educator – Dr. Peter DeWitt, Poestenkill Elementary, Averill Park CSD

Elementary Principal of the Year – Kathleen A. Carney, Herkimer Elementary School, Herkimer CSD

Middle School Principal of the Year – Mark Mambretti, East Aurora Middle School, East Aurora UFSD

High School Principal of the Year – Dr. Carol Burris, South Side High School, Rockville Centre UFSD

Assistant Principal of the Year (NASSP) – Daniel Poucher, Granville Junior/Senior High School, Granville CSD

Assistant Principal of the Year (NAESP) – Burnice Green, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School No. 9, Boys Academy, Rochester City SD

James E. Allen Award – Marlene Blocker, Early College International High School (RECIHS), Rochester City SD

Leadership and Support Award – Dr. Guy Lodico, Plainview-Old Bethpage CSD

T. Walsh McQuillan Award – Rose Castello, Sunrise Drive Elementary School, Sayville UFSD

K-12 Building – Nadeen Kearney, Johnsburg Central SD
