State Route 248 Daytime Lane Closures Planned for Bridge Work in Carbon County

Lehigh River Bridge construction temporarily restricts traffic next week in Parryville.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (10/07/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that Walsh Construction will be establishing bi-directional single-lane patterns on Route 248 Monday, Oct. 10 and Friday, Oct. 14 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The lane closures are for the protection of workers and traffic during overhead bridge work on the new Lehigh River Bridge.

Construction crews will establish single lane patterns eastbound and westbound, closing the right lane and shoulder on Monday (Oct. 10) and the left lane on Friday (Oct. 14) at 7 a.m. until the patterns are lifted by 5 p.m.

The single-lane traffic restrictions are approximately ½ mile long between State Street and Center Street on Route 248 in Parryville and motorists should be prepared for slow-moving or stopped traffic when approaching the area. Obey posted speed limits and stay alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.

All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled. Please visit www.lehighbridge.com for all project related information.
