State Route 248 Daytime Lane Closures Planned for Bridge Work in Carbon County
Lehigh River Bridge construction temporarily restricts traffic Monday and Tuesday in Parryville.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (11/19/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that Walsh Construction will be establishing a single-lane pattern on Route 248 Monday and Tuesday (Nov 21-22) between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The right lane and shoulder will be closed westbound only for the protection of workers and traffic during overhead bridge work on the Lehigh River Bridges.
Additionally, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. crews will conduct a mobile pattern moving across all lanes on Rt. 248 to paint a white stripe on the fascia beam beneath the bridge parapet.
The single-lane traffic restrictions are approximately ½ mile long between State Street and Center Street on Route 248 in Parryville. Mobile operations will be conducted across all lanes under the new bridge.
Motorists should be prepared for slow-moving or stopped traffic when approaching the area, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., until crews and equipment are off the roadway. Obey posted speed limits and stay alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.
All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled. Please visit www.lehighbridge.com for all project related information.
