ALBANY, NY (01/16/2013)(readMedia)-- The Preservation League of New York State named the former Glenwood Power Plant in Yonkers to its "Seven to Save" list of endangered places in 2008.
Since then, the League has worked with local stakeholders on reuse plans that respect the building's industrial character and architectural integrity. An icon on the Hudson River waterfront, the Glenwood Power Plant is an inspiring remnant of our industrial and transportation heritage.
Senator Schumer's commitment to secure enhancements to the federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit program will be welcomed in communities across New York State that seek to revitalize and redevelop historic properties on their waterfront, their downtowns and along their Main Streets. The Creating American Prosperity through Preservation (CAPP) Act will add value to the New York State Rehabilitation Tax Credit program, another important incentive for revitalizing historic properties.
