Statement from U.S. Congressional Candidate Lee Zeldin
MASTIC, NY (07/04/2008)(readMedia)-- Each Fourth of July, our nation celebrates the freedom entrusted to us through the sacrifices of our ancestors. Today, we give thanks for the opportunity to live in the greatest nation in the world.
This freedom is not free, and we must honor and cherish the commitment of those willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to protect the safety and security of our families, friends, and neighbors.
So amidst the barbeques and gatherings today, please keep in mind those who are not here to celebrate with us; specifically those troops currently deployed and serving in harm's way. May they have the strength to endure today and every moment they are away from their families in order to bravely defeat our nation's enemies abroad.
