STAUNTON, VA (11/16/2010)(readMedia)-- The Staunton Parks and Recreation Department Introduces the "15 Minutes of Fame" Photo Contest. The Contest is a portion of the Recreation 3.0 Campaign - Let's Make Staunton Great!
To all interested parties:
Your photo could become our next brochure cover. This contest is open to both professional and amateur photographers. We have some specific guidelines as far as picture resolution so please see details below. A couple of things you should know…
1. we love kids
2. we are looking for un-posed pictures and
3. we have an open mind.
Grandparents are encouraged to show off their favorite little people. All photos must be taken in our parks or while participating in our programs/trips/leagues to be considered for the brochure cover.

Guidelines: Pictures must be taken in any of the Staunton parks to be considered for this contest OR pictures must be of participation in any of our programs/leagues or trips. In order to be considered for the brochure cover, the resolution of the picture must be at least 350 dpi. All pictures regardless of dpi will be considered for sponsor gallery display and parks and recreation promotional materials. By submitting your photo you give the Staunton Parks and Recreation Department and our campaign sponsors permission to use the photo in gallery displays and promotional materials that are not limited to the department brochure. No monetary compensation will be exchanged for use of the photos. The winning photograph will be used as the Spring/Summer 2011 Brochure cover. The winning photographer and his/her photo will be recognized publicly as well as inside the Spring/Summer 2011 Brochure cover. In addition, a "lens" will be created in their honor via Squiddo. In certain cases we may need a model permission form.
