Stelzer Named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District IV First Team

Manitowoc Native Hitting 3-Pointers, too.

HOUGHTON, MI (02/03/2014)(readMedia)-- Michigan Tech's Ben Stelzer has been named to the 2013-14 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District IV First Team.

Stelzer, from Manitowoc, and Austin Armga from Waupun were two of the five selected from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Great Midwest Conference.

Stelzer, a junior, is one of the nation's leaders in 3-point shooting. He is scoring 18 points per game and making 4.1 threes per game. Stelzer owns a 3.74 grade point average in finance.

Armga, a senior, has been in the top five in the nation in scoring all season. He is currently averaging 24.4 points per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field. Armga has a 3.78 grade point average in exercise science.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later next month.
