GAINESVILLE, GA (02/08/2012)(readMedia)-- The Foothills of Georgia Society of Human Resources Management has awarded its second annual HR scholarship to Brenau student Stephanie Pruitt Whitehead of Commerce, Ga.
Whitehead currently is enrolled in Brenau University's online business program in human resource management that leads to a bachelor of sciences degree. She is also a member of Sigma Beta Delta, a national honor society for students in business, management, and administration.
"Her academic performance, personal perseverance in times of meeting professional and academic goals, and financial status were all considerations for her receiving this award," said Dr. Suzanne Butterfield, director of Brenau's human resources management programs.
Whitehead will formally receive the award Feb. 21 at the organization's meeting at Georgia Mountain Center in Gainesville. Butterfield and John Essigman, SHRM board member and chair of the College Relations Committee will jointly present the award.
Last year's recipient, Delvalyn Richards, a junior from Lawrenceville, Ga., continues in the Brenau HR program. She is also employed by Gwinnett Tech in its Student Career Development Department.
