HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (03/26/2013)(readMedia)-- On Friday, March 8, 2013, Charles Stephen Nusbaum, a junior at Hampden-Sydney College, was elected Chairman of the College Activities Council for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Stephen has served on the CAC for two years. He is a member of the social fraternity Kappa Alpha, Club Lacrosse, and the Society of 1791 leadership program. A history major, Stephen is a graduate of Norfolk Academy and is the son of Charlie & Nancy Nusbaum of Norfolk.
The CAC, an arm of student government, plans social entertainment for students in the form of dances, concerts, movies, and other activities. Student government, first introduced at the College in 1886, is an historic and respected institution.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
