Steven Renehan of Summit, NJ, named to Saint Michael's College Board of Trustees

COLCHESTER, VT (10/16/2012)(readMedia)-- Steven J. Renehan, a 1981 graduate of Saint Michael's College, and successful financier, has been named to the Saint Michael's Board of Trustees. Mr. Renehan, a resident of Summit, NJ, is CEO of Solus Alternative Asset Management, New York, N.Y. He was appointed to a three-year term on the Saint Michael's board, renewable for another two terms, and he attended his first board meeting at the college October 11-13.

"I was pleased to join the Saint Michael's board because I feel very fortunate in life," Mr. Renehan said, "and when I look back at the factors in that success, it starts with St. Mikes."

He said further, "I felt it was about time to give back to the community that started me on a path toward personal and professional success."

Mr. Renehan was named Saint Michael's College Alumnus of the Year in 2006. He has been a member of the Saint Michael's Investment Advisory Committee for several years.

Career path

Prior to becoming CEO of Solus in 2007, Mr. Renehan worked in finance for over 20 years, starting with Salomon Brothers, 1984-88; First Boston Corporation, 1988-91; Merrill Lynch, where he was managing director, Global Head of Credit Trading, 1991-1999; and Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director, head of Hi-yield Sales, Trading and Research, 1999-2006.

Mr. Renehan and his wife Deirdre Duggan Renehan, a 1981 graduate of Saint Michael's College, have three children, Brendan, Meghan, and Mary Kate.
