Strengthening Her Peers Through the Power of Poetry

Whether it be writing, speaking or performing, Cedarville University junior Priya Hansen has a powerful way with words.

Hansen is from Naples, Florida, and she is majoring in Christian education and youth ministries, with a concentration in worship. She's had the opportunity to serve in chapel in a unique way.

Since her senior year of high school, Hansen has been writing spoken word poetry, a form of poetry that reads like a monologue. She uses rhyme, repetition, rhythm and imagery to create a word picture and set a tone.
