Student Alexander Ramsey Making His Mark in FSU's President's Leadership Circle

FROSTBURG, MD (03/12/2014)(readMedia)-- FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State University student Alexander Ramsey of Mount Airy, Md., is making his mark in the President's Leadership Circle for the 2013-2014 academic year. Ramsey, nominated from among FSU's finest students, was selected for demonstrating significant leadership both in and out of the classroom.

Ramsey is a business administration major who also worked as a freelance contractor with AV Solutions International, Inc., and the Lane University Center. He was leg leader in the first three legs of the 4K for Cancer charity bike ride, in which he cycled more than 4,000 miles from Baltimore to Portland, Ore., in 70 days, raising more than $4,800. He is a brother of the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity, in which he previously served as vice president of finance and sergeant at arms. Ramsey is vice president of the Marketing Club at Frostburg and operates his own business specializing in web development and IT support.

PLC members are provided a variety of opportunities to further develop their leadership skills and steward relevant causes through their proven capabilities in the classroom and community. They may enhance their intercultural communication skills with opportunities to engage in a service-learning project in another culture, network with distinguished alumni, interact with the University's leadership team and share their perspectives about FSU. Other PLC requirements include having completed 75 or more credit hours and having earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

In past years, PLC students have held significant leadership positions on campus. Other members have demonstrated their leadership by the contributions they have made to the campus community and the respect they have earned among faculty, staff and students alike.
