Students Recognized for Research and Creative Achievements

Nineteen students received a "Best in Show" award for their entries into the Fall 2019 Student Research & Creative Achievement Day. At the end of each semester SUNY Delhi celebrates the research and creative activity from students and faculty. The Fall 2019 exhibits included posters and presentations from students enrolled in courses in Statistics, Art, Architecture, Science, History, Mechatronics, Literature, and Veterinary Sciences, as well as students from the Honors Program.

The Best in Show winners were Maranda Klinger, Carly Yezzo, Michael Zerniak, Carl Kernochan, Christine Briggs, Jennifer Gast, Michelle Milano, Jailene Ortiz, Aileen Zuniga, Anya Diones, Ken Gray Jr., Summer Phillip, Tristian Wellman, Connor Tucker, Timothy Joyce, Antonio Russo, Ayasha Michie, Tatyana Hinton, and Kendra Davis

Professor of Biology Jack Tessier helped to organize the show and says that research projects are important experiences for students because they give a glimpse of what professionals in the discipline do, require critical and high-level thinking, and provide a chance to practice presentation skills.
