Students from Arkansas Named to Leadership Society at William Woods University
FULTON, MO (12/18/2013)(readMedia)-- William Woods University's chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) inducted 31 new members Dec. 5.New members include two students from Arkansas, Kayla Brown of Bentonville and Hannah Owens of Bigelow.
"NSLS helps students discover and achieve their goals through Student Networking Teams (SNT) and life-changing lectures from highly successful leaders. Students work collectively to help each other become better leaders and reach for their dreams," said Shay Jasper, chapter president.
The steps to become inducted are achieved throughout the semester. First, students register as pre-members. Then, they are required to attend orientation, a leadership training day, three speaker broadcasts and three SNT meetings. At each SNT meeting, students assist each other in setting and accomplishing at least one short-term and one long-term goal.
"The society provides the opportunity to take the next step in learning leadership abilities and how to apply those in college and career settings-really any life setting," Jasper said.
"I'm excited that there has been such an outstanding group of leaders on campus interested in learning more about their own styles of leadership and how they can push their abilities even further."
