PHILADELPHIA, PA (02/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Each year the American Journal of Nursing (AJN) recognizes books by nurses and other authors for excellence in book publishing for and about nurses and deems them the most valuable texts of 2011. There are 17 categories ranging from clinical nursing to professional development and policy to informatics.
The Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions community congratulates Dr. Heyward Michael Dreher, Associate Professor of Nursing and Dr. Mary Ellen Glasgow, Professor and Associate Dean for Nursing, Undergraduate Health Professions, and Continuing Nursing Education for winning an American Journal of Nursing (AJN) Book of the Year Award 2011 in the Advanced Practice Nursing category for their book, Role Development for Doctoral Advanced Nursing Practice published in December 2010 (Springer). Many national and international scholars contributed to this text.
Dr. Dreher serves as Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed journal Clinical Scholars Review: The Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice and is the column editor for "Practice Evidence." He is co-author of the book, Philosophy of Science for Nursing Practice (with Dr. Michael Dahnke as first author) in October 2010 (Springer).
