VALPARAISO, IN (09/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Susan Bolitho will be one of 16 alumni and volunteers recognized by the Valparaiso University Alumni Association during Homecoming festivities at the University this weekend. The honorees will be recognized during a special worship service at 10 a.m., September 26 in the Chapel of the Resurrection.
Bolitho of Scottsdale will be honored with Honorary Alumni Membership, which is granted to persons who are not alumni, but who exemplify the ideals of achievement and service in their association with the University.
Bolitho attended Glassboro State College, Atlantic Community College, and Scottsdale Community College. She currently works as the hospitality coordinator for the Arizona Interscholastic Association and holds guest services positions at the University of Phoenix stadium and the arena for Phoenix Coyotes hockey. Bolitho enjoys a variety of volunteer work with religious organizations such as La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church in Scottsdale, Ariz. and community organizations like Moms In Touch International. Bolitho considers Valparaiso University an integral part of her life and has contributed to efforts such as the Arizona celebration of Valparaiso University's 150th Anniversary, Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, and the Valpo Admission Network. Her first memories of Valparaiso include when her husband, Lew '70, brought her to the University for their honeymoon. Two sons, Brian '03 and Jonathon '03, and daughter-in-law, Andrea (Thien '03), are Valparaiso University graduates.
