T. Ryan Sullivan of Lenox wins science awards at Elms College

CHICOPEE, MA (05/18/2010)(readMedia)-- T. Ryan Sullivan of Lenox received the American Chemical Society Award and the Mary E. Scanlon Prize at Elms College's annual Honors Convocation. The American Chemical Society Award is presented to a graduating chemistry major who has done outstanding work in the field. The award is sponsored by the Connecticut Valley section of the Society.

The Mary E. Scanlon Prize is given to a graduating senior majoring in the sciences who has demonstrated the highest academic achievement in science. The endowment making possible the award was established by members of the Scanlon family.

A two-year captain of the cross country team at Elms, Sullivan will begin a Ph.D. program in chemistry at the University of Massachusetts in September.
