Taconic State Parkway Roadwork Scheduled Next Week
Southbound Lane Closures Planned in Towns of New Castle and Yorktown
ALBANY, NY (04/12/2013)(readMedia)-- The New York State Department of Transportation will paving along the Taconic State Parkway at the New Croton Reservoir next week, requiring lane closures southbound on the Parkway between Underhill Avenue in Yorktown and Pines Bridge Road in New Castle, both in Westchester County. Weather permitting, the closures will occur Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the work areas and pay particular attention to all traffic control messaging from flaggers, work zone signs and electronic variable message signs.
State fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in driver's license suspension.
