Tall, Taller and Tallest Corn

DES MOINES, IA (08/12/2017) (readMedia)-- Ronald Zelle of Waverly, claimed first place in the Tall Corn competition with an entry measuring 15 feet, 3 inches. The competition was judged prior to the start of the 2017 Iowa State Fair.

Kaytie Bailey of Nashua claimed second place with an entry measuring 14 feet, 6 inches.

John Meyer of Waverly took third place with an entry measuring 11 feet, 2 inches.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
