MANCHESTER, NH (04/16/2012)(readMedia)-- Teresa Scalzi, a senior nursing major from Nashua,N.H., received the Paul S. Coleman Senior Service Award at Saint Anselm College's 19th annual Paul S. Coleman Volunteer Service and Leadership awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 28.
Each year, a senior receives the Paul S. Coleman Senior Service Award for exemplifying outstanding service leadership on campus, in the local community and beyond throughout their four years at Saint Anselm College.
Paul S. Coleman, a former Saint Anselm College sociology professor, spent his life in selfless service to others. In honor of his memory, Saint Anselm hosts an annual award ceremony to recognize students for their involvement and service.
A fellow classmate says, "The most prominent aspect of Teresa's leadership is her humility." Scalzi was commended for her leadership work in coordinating students' involvement with young refugee children and families at Langdon Mill, as president of the Hunger and Homelessness Coalition, and as a leader of both Spring Break Alternative and Road For Hope, to name a few.
