Jazz at Brockport - Featuring the Aaron Goldberg Trio

Wynton Marsalis has said that "Aaron Goldberg is a modern improviser of great clarity, finesse and dexterity." With the other members of his trio, this talented young pianist and composer will weave the magic of jazz for fans and musicians from all walks of life - novice to professional - at a series of lecture/demonstrations, a master class and concert.

Classes and workshops are free. Participants must be 16 years or older.

Student Dance Organization Guest Artist Larry Keigwin and Company

The Larry Keigwin Company members live to create provocative, witty and engaging dances. Utilizing a collaborative process, they combine physicality with theatricality, sample a variety of mediums and, ultimately, fuse art with entertainment.

Festival of Ten: An Evening of Ten 10-minute Plays

After an international search, the sixth biennial Festival of Ten has culled these scripts down to the top 10. The chosen plays are, at times, thought-provoking; at times, sly and witty. But they are always the result of a writer putting words on paper and thus creating a living, breathing play.

All performances are at 7:30 pm, except Sunday matinee at 2 pm, which is sign interpreted for the hearing impaired.

Rewrite the Future Forum

The Department of Criminal Justice will host a forum featuring a short film about literacy and growing up in countries in conflict. The College's Sankofa African Dance and Drum Ensemble will present their exciting and inspiring dancing and drumming performance. In addition, a panel consisting of Bomie Cooper and Reat Nial Tuany, current students who are themselves from countries that have experienced conflict, and representatives from the Department of Criminal Justice and the Save the Children Foundation also will speak about the importance of improving the education of children in conflict areas.

Monroe and Vicinity Biennial Exhibition

Western New York is rich with talented and adventurous artists. In this exhibition, the College and community celebrates the accomplishments of four artists in our region: Dan DeZarn, Geneseo; Barbara Rowe, Buffalo; Peter Byrne, Rochester; and Minna Resnick, Ithaca.

Opening Reception: Thursday, January 29, 5 - 7 pm

All exhibitions are in the Tower Fine Arts Center, Holley Street, and are free and open to the public. The Tower Fine Arts Center Gallery and Tower Fine Arts Center Rainbow Gallery can be reached at (585) 395-2805.
