Having Fun at Family Fun Day!

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (03/14/2012)(readMedia)-- On April 29, 2012, The Castle Gallery at The College of New Rochelle will present Family Fun Day in celebration of Earth Week, in collaboration with the Pop-Up Adventure Play, and for the first time, PlayHarvest.

Earth Week Family Fun Day, being held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Maura Lawn at The College of New Rochelle, will bring together members of the greater New Rochelle community for an afternoon of creative and Eco-conscious play, healthy food and fun. At the heart of this celebration will be pop-up adventure playground-a type of low-cost, child-directed play space which allows children to use their imagination and skill to form and re-form their own worlds of magic, mystery and joy. Snacks and beverages, including smoothies, will also be available and picnics are encouraged.

Joining the Castle Gallery for the first time to faculty the event are the power team of Naomi Games-Towers and Patrice Schwartz, retired early childhood and elementary educators from Mamaroneck School District with over 70 years combined experience in working with children and their families.

This fun day is being presented in conjunction with the Castle Gallery's Westchester Biennial exhibition showcasing the talent of local artists. Parents and children are welcome to visit the gallery throughout the afternoon. Also on display will be some of the creations that came out of the Castle Gallery's first pop-up adventure playground in October 2011.
