The College of New Rochelle Names New Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (10/24/2011)(readMedia)-- Judith Huntington, president of The College of New Rochelle (CNR), announced the appointment of Hans van Dyk as the College's Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations, effective October 3, 2011.
In making the appointment, President Huntington said, "As The College of New Rochelle moves forward with numerous strategic initiatives, including those in math and science, technology, wellness programming, mentoring, and providing access, we welcome the addition of Mr. van Dyk to the Corporate and Foundations Relations area and look forward to forming partnerships with the business and philanthropic community that will be of benefit to all."
Mr. van Dyk, who was born in Holland and raised in Australia, came to the United States as an undergraduate exchange student and holds three degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison: BA, MA, and JD.
He has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Missouri, Augustana College, and at the University of Auckland in New Zealand.
Leaving the classroom for the private sector, he established his own consulting firm in Auckland, and then in 2007 returned to the U.S. and became the Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the Humanities, Arts and International Programs at Yale University.
In accepting the position at CNR, Mr. van Dyk said, "This position appealed to me because it gave me an opportunity to build a Corporate & Foundation Relations operation in a smaller environment. I look forward to advancing the mission of The College of New Rochelle."
The father of three grown children, Mr. van Dyk lives in New Haven with his wife Julia Adams, a sociologist and currently Chair of the Department of Sociology at Yale University.
