The Maine Military & Community Network (MM&CN) will hold the Fourth Annual Statewide Conference

AUGUSTA, ME (06/16/2014)(readMedia)-- The Maine Military & Community Network (MM&CN) will hold the Fourth Annual Statewide Conference on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 8:00am to 4:30pm. The conference will take place at the University of New England, 716 Stevens Avenue, Portland, Maine.

The theme for the event is "Community Covenant". The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Kelly Posner, author of the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale and internationally renowned speaker on the community challenge of suicide prevention. Specific focus will be placed upon the important role communities play in helping Veterans successfully reintegrate back into their communities after military service.

Dr. Cynthia Lischick of New Jersey will give a presentation highlighting the prevention of Domestic Violence in the Military and the community at large.

Spouse and Author of the newly released book, "Dinner with the Smiley's," Sarah Smiley will be present to give insight to the perspective of facing deployment from the home front in a veteran family panel. Sara will be joined by the

Richard Mariello Family who will speak about their experiences during deployment.

Jason Reardon from the National Guard Bureau will present the model for building an effective Community Covenant. And aAwards for excellence in support of Maine's military population will also be presented.
