Theresa Greving of Olathe, KS Receives Clare Booth Luce Undergraduate Scholarship for Women in Science

OMAHA, NE (09/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Theresa Greving, of Olathe, KS, was awarded a Clare Booth Luce Undergraduate Scholarship for Women in Science for the 2011-2012 academic year. She is one of six women to receive the scholarship at Creighton University. The scholars receive a full tuition scholarship plus an allowance for fees, books and housing.

Clare Boothe Luce scholars must be women majoring in one of the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics or computer science. The scholars receive a full tuition scholarship plus an allowance for fees, books and housing. They must also plan a research career in one of these fields. In addition to being excellent students, Clare Boothe Luce scholars must complete a science related research project while funded.

The Clare Boothe Luce Fund, which awarded its first grants in 1989, was established to "encourage women to enter, study, graduate and teach" in fields where there have been obstacles to their advancement. Across the country, only about 40 new Clare Boothe Luce Scholars are selected each year. This year, 41 women were nominated for the scholarships.
