Timm Pilcher selected as faculty for 2011 Washington Journalism and Media Conference
FAIRFAX, VA (07/11/2011)(readMedia)-- Timm Pilcher has been selected as one of six award-winning high school journalism advisers from around the country to be a faculty member for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) to be held at George Mason University July 10-15, 2011. With distinguished faculty, guest speakers, and direct access to elite D.C. practitioners, The Washington Journalism and Media conference offers aspiring journalists and student leaders an unparalleled experience. Timm Pilcher is a 15-year publications advising veteran, and a Certified Journalism Educator through the Journalism Education Association. He is currently at Hoover High School in Des Moines, IA, where he advises the award-winning Challenger newspaper print edition and website, and Husky yearbook. He has been a past Iowa High School Journalism Teacher of the Year, and has taught and keynoted numerous publications workshops at the state and national levels. This will be Mr. Pilcher's first year as a faculty adviser at WJMC.
