Timothy Marcin Wins Veryan Beacham and William Warner Writing Prizes at Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, MD (05/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Timothy Marcin '13, son of Michael Marcin and Marisa Marcin, Wilmington, DE, is the recipient of both the William Warner Prize, awarded to the Washington College undergraduate who shows the greatest aptitude for writing about nature and the environment, and the Veryan Beacham Prize, given to a Washington College Junior for excellent writing that reflects and helps shape a greater understanding about vital issues in civic life, culture, and society. Marcin is the first student to win both the Warner and Beacham prizes.
Marcin is majoring in English with a minor in Creative Writing and Business Management. Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team, he is the Sports Editor for The Elm student newspaper and a member of the College's Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows honor society. He is also a Presidential Fellow. Marcin graduated from Concord High School.
