DES MOINES, IA (08/19/2009)(readMedia)-- Beth Seuferer of West Des Moines won two of the top three overall prizes in the Catered Cuisine competition judged Sunday at the 2009 Iowa State Fair.
Seuferer won First Place Overall and $100 for Chipotle Sweet Potato Soup. She also won Third Place Overall with Blue Cheese and Bacon Slaw.
Sue Olson of Des Moines won Second Place Overall and $50 for Cinnamon-Apple Grilled Cheese.
Each made-from-scratch original entry was judged on "wow" factor, taste, creativity, appearance and ease in catering.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the newly-renovated Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny
