CONWAY, AR (05/24/2012)(readMedia)-- Torey Hayward of Alexandria, La, has been accepted into Teach for America. Hayward, who received a theatre degree from Hendrix College, will be serving in New Orleans, La.
"I'm pretty stoked about being accepted into TFA," Hayward said. "I look forward to spending the next two years in New Orleans while positively impacting the people of a state that I love so much!"
Hayward was one of eight Hendrix seniors selected.

They have reached more than 3 million students across 43 urban and rural communities, founded dozens of high-performing schools, boldly led school districts and charter management organizations, and helped pass groundbreaking education legislation. In the 2011-12 school year, more than 9,000 corps members will teach 600,000 students while nearly 24,000 alumni will continue to deepen their impact as educational leaders and advocates.
