Traffic Delays Expected on Township Line Road in Plymouth and Whitpain Townships This Week
Overnight flagging operations will limit traffic to one lane Monday-Friday 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (03/28/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike is advising motorists traveling on Township Line Road (SR 3001) through Plymouth and Whitpain Townships to be prepared for flagger controlled operations, limiting traffic to one lane, Monday through Friday (March 28-April 1). The nighttime single-lane pattern will go into effect at 6 p.m. to allow PECO to safely perform utility work in the roadway until the pattern is lifted at 6 a.m. the following morning.
During the nighttime flagging operation, motorists are urged to use caution and remain alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic along Township Line Road in the vicinity of the I-476 overpass.
Part of the Turnpike's $151 million total reconstruction and widening project, the work to relocate the utilities is in advance of widening the overhead bridge. The scheduled work will be in effect Monday through Friday weather permitting. For project related information call the project hotline at 1-877-855-2545 on a 24-hour basis, Sunday through Saturday.
Motorists are urged to stay alert for slow moving traffic, obey posted speed limits, and use extra caution when approaching and entering construction zones. Speed limits will be enforced and fines increased. Get Turnpike news releases, traffic bulletins and other information at www.paturnpike.com.
