Trevecca's Johnson G-MAC Player of the Week for Second Time

NASHVILLE, TN (09/25/2012)(readMedia)-- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that for the second time this season, Kristen Johnson from Trevecca Nazarene University, has been named the G-MAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week. Johnson played her high school volleyball at Independence High School.

Johnson, a 5-9 junior from Franklin, Tenn., recorded a conference-high 50 kills this past week over five matches, including a 18 kill performance in a five set win over Maryville College.

In another solid all-around week of action, Johnson also contributed 92 assists, 69 digs, 17 blocks and a pair of service aces.

This past week, Johnson recorded a hitting percentage of .245, slightly increasing her season percentage, which currently ranks third (.242) in the conference. She also ranks third in kills (146) in the G-MAC, while ranking fifth in blocks (37) and assists (225).

Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian liberal arts university located in Nashville, Tenn., Music City, USA. Now in its 111th year, Trevecca is committed to educate "leaders and servants" through undergraduate and graduate education. Trevecca's athletic teams are in the second year of a three year transition to NCAA Division ll status.
