Trevecca's Raines Named G-MAC POW

NASHVILLE, TN (09/25/2012)(readMedia)-- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released its Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week and Matt Raines from Trevecca Nazarene University was awarded the honor for the week ending September 16, 2012.

Raines, five-foot-11 junior midfielder from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., scored a pair of goals and added a pair of assists in three contests last week, all on the road.

In a 3-2 win over conference opponent Kentucky Wesleyan, Raines had an assist on the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the contest. In the team's second game of the week the Trojans fell to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, but Raines managed a goal in the 5-3 loss.

Raines closed out the week with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout against Trinity International University. His goal was the first of the game, proving to be the game-winner.

Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian liberal arts university located in Nashville, Tenn., Music City, USA.
