Trine's Summer Frenzy Visit Day part of Private College Week

ANGOLA (06/20/2018) Trine University will be one of 30 colleges and universities participating in the Independent Colleges of Indiana's Private College Week from July 16-20.

During Private College Week, Indiana's private, non-profit colleges and universities will welcome students, parents and others to learn about the college selection process and experience the personality of each campus through tours, informational sessions and conversations with current students and staff. All activities are free.

Trine will offer visits throughout the week, along with its Summer Frenzy Visit Day on Friday, July 20. Summer Frenzy Visit Day includes sessions on student success and engagement, admission and financial aid, academics and athletics, as well as a tour of campus (including residence halls) and lunch in the student cafeteria.

Call (800) 347-4878 for more information.

Although Indiana's private colleges encourage and welcome visitors throughout the year, this concentrated week offers students an opportunity to visit as many campuses as they would like without missing school. A complete list of participating campuses, event schedules and registration information is available at collegetoolkit.org/pcw.

Visitors between the ages of 16 and 20 touring ICI campuses during Private College Week will have the chance to enter a drawing for a Microsoft Surface or Apple iPad mini tablet. Entry forms and rules will be available at each campus.

Just a few of the many reasons Indiana's private colleges are the smart choice:

•Availability of Financial Aid: More than 90 percent of students at Indiana's private colleges receive one or more types of financial aid (state, federal, institutional aid, and/or special scholarships), making a private college education affordable and often no more expensive (and sometimes even less so) than a state university.

•Personal Attention: Class size at Indiana's private colleges and universities averages 14 students to one professor, and graduates are more likely to report they are "highly satisfied" with the quality of their education.

•Opportunities for Leadership: With smaller, more personal learning environments, there are more opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities of all sorts, further developing their leadership skills.

•Higher Graduation Rates: Students at Indiana's private, non-profit campuses are twice as likely to graduate in four years as students at other types of institutions.
