The SUNY Potsdam Shamrock Aftershock 5K fun run/walk will be offered on March 21.

POTSDAM, NY (03/15/2012)(readMedia)-- Everyone is welcome to go for the gold in SUNY Potsdam's sixth annual 5K fun run/walk, sponsored by the College's Department of Athletics. This year, the race, which is normally held on St. Patrick's Day, will be offered on Wednesday, March 21.

The 2012 Shamrock Aftershock 5K Run will be offered on Wednesday, March 21, starting at the Maxcy Hall Athletic Complex ramp. Walkers leave at 4:15 p.m., and runners start at 4:30 p.m. Race-day registration begins at 3:30 p.m.

Registration is free to all SUNY Potsdam students with a valid ID, and there is a preregistration fee of $15 or a race day registration fee of $20 for all others. The first 250 registrants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.

Preregistration is available until Tuesday, March 20, by filling out forms available in the Fitness Center or online by clicking the shamrock link at www.potsdam.edu/athletics/fitnesscenter.

The Shamrock Aftershock race is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam intramurals, the Shane T. Saul Fitness Center, Victory Promotions, SUNY Potsdam Athletics and WAIH "The Way," 90.3 FM, the College's student radio station.
