Tuesday's Mega Millions Jackpot Bumped to $330,000,000

The New York Lottery today announced the jackpot for the Tuesday, January 4th Mega Millions drawing has been bumped up to $330,000,000 - the third largest Mega Millions jackpot ever offered since New York joined the multi-state game in 2002. Strong sales across all participating Mega Millions states and the District of Columbia account for the most recent jackpot increase. New York sales for the Mega Millions game have totaled more than $80,00,000 since the roll up for this jackpot began on September 21st; generating more than $28,000,000 for education.

The $330,000,000 prize marks the 5th time in New York Mega Millions history that the jackpot has reached the $300,000,000 mark. Other jackpots of $300,000,000 or more include:

• $390,000,000 in March of 2007
• $336,000,000 in August of 2009
• $330,000,000 - To be Drawn January 4th, 2011
• $325,000,000 in August of 2007
• $315,000,000 in November of 2005
