Turlock's Austin Keaton Named to All-HAAC Baseball Team

CANTON, MO (05/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Culver-Stockton College shortstop Austin Keaton has been named to the 2011 All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) baseball first team, the league announced recently.

Keaton, a junior from Turlock, Calif. (Pitman HS / Modesto College), was the only Wildcat to start all 54 games during the season. He was second on the team with a .391 batting average, finishing with 61 hits in 156 at-bats. He also scored 44 runs and tallied 32 runs batted in. In addition, Keaton was hit by a pitch a team-high 17 times and he recorded a team-high 24 stolen bases. He had a .436 slugging percentage and a .490 on-base percentage.

The Wildcats finished the 2011 season with a 37-17 overall record and captured their seventh HAAC regular season championship with a 24-4 league mark. Culver-Stockton advanced to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament, going 1-2 in tournament play.

The HAAC is an 11-team conference consisting of colleges and universities in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
