Turnpike Restores Speed Limit on 122-Mile Stretch in Western Pa.
Usual speed limit now in effect from Ohio line to Allegheny Tunnel.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has lifted the reduced speed limit that was implemented yesterday evening on a 122-mile stretch of Turnpike in Western Pa., between the Pennsylvania/Ohio border at milepost 0 and the Allegheny Tunnel at milepost 122.
The restriction, which was put in place around 7 p.m. last night due to weather and roadway conditions, was officially lifted at 6 a.m. today.
Presently, maintenance crews report that high winds are causing patchy areas of drifting on the western Turnpike, and snow-removal teams are plowing and salting throughout the region as needed.
