GREENVILLE, PA (01/24/2012)(readMedia)-- Two seniors, Amy Jane Matchett and Scott Hunkus, were chosen as the Students of the Month at Thiel College for January 2012.
Matchett is an English and psychology major from Bulger, Pa. She has been a member of the college's Dean's List for seven semesters. She also has served as a representative on the English Department scholarship selection committee, chair of the community service committee of Lambda Sigma, president of Sigma Tau Delta, editor of The Phoenix, writing lab tutor and writing consultant, and a member of the Student Government Association. She also is a receipient of the Vira I. Heinz Scholarships for Women in Global Leadership.
Hunkus is an actuarial studies and mathematics major from Kinsman, Ohio. He has been a member of the college's Dean's List for seven semesters and is currently studying for his actuarial exams.
Students of the Month at Thiel College are selected by faculty vote from among seniors with superior grade point averages.
