Two Oglethorpe University women's soccer players earn All-SAA honorable mention

The Southern Athletic Association women's soccer coaches voted junior goalkeeper Lindsey Bolas and freshman midfielder Kieran Burkey to the All-SAA honorable mention list, released on Nov. 11 by the league office. It marked the second career All-SAA honor for Bolas, the other an honorable mention nod in 2017.

Bolas, a biology major and graduate of Troy High School in Troy, Michigan, enjoyed another outstanding season for the Stormy Petrels, placing herself among the best goalkeepers in the conference. She finished third in the league in saves per game with 4.6, while also coming in third with 69 total saves. She also tallied a 1.77 goals-against average and a .742 save percentage.

Burkey, a gradute of Lincoln Southeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, enjoyed an excellent debut campaign for the Petrels. She recorded four goals and three assists in 15 games and bagged game-winners in the team's 1-0 season-opening win over Benedictine (Illinois) Aug. 30 and their 3-2 win at Wesleyan Sept. 22.

The Petrels finished 9-8 on the season, compiling their best record since 2000 when they finished 10-7-2.
