U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik to address Paul Smith's College graduates

PAUL SMITHS, NY (04/27/2015)(readMedia)-- U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik will deliver the keynote address at the 68th Commencement exercises at Paul Smith's College Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to speak to the 2015 graduating class of Paul Smith's College," Stefanik said. "Paul Smith's College has a proud history of providing a top quality education right here in our North Country community, and I look forward to congratulating these exceptional students on their graduation."

About 230 students are expected to graduate with the Class of 2015.

Stefanik represents New York's 21st Congressional District. She's the youngest woman ever elected to the U.S. Congress.

Before her election, Stefanik worked at her family's small business, Premium Plywood Products, which was founded in upstate New York more than 20 years ago. She is the first member of her immediate family to graduate from college. She graduated with honors from Harvard University where she was one of only three women honored with the Women's Leadership Award. Stefanik lives in Willsboro, N.Y., where her family has had a home since she was 3.

Paul Smith's College will also present honorary degrees to Jack LaDuke and Jeanne Hutchins during the Commencement exercises.
