AIKEN, SC (11/01/2017) The University of South Carolina Aiken will host the annual S. C. Theater Association Convention, Nov. 2 - 5, in the Etherredge Center and in academic buildings across campus.

"We are proud to once again host this exciting event," said Jack Benjamin, executive director of the Etherredge Center and chair of the USC Aiken Department of Visual & Performing Arts.

"This will be the sixth time that USC Aiken has hosted this event, and each time it has been larger than the last."

Approximately 1,400 visitors are expected to attend this year's event. The convention includes two separate one-act theatre festivals featuring community theatres and 33 high school theatre programs from across the state.

In addition, there will be workshops, auditions for both professional opportunities as well as scholarship opportunities for students. USC Aiken theatre students will facilitate the programming.

"We are thrilled to welcome the South Carolina Theatre Association convention back to Aiken and our beautiful campus," Benjamin said.
